Bio:Professor Asbjorn Strandbakken has been connected with the University of Bergen since 1990. In 2002, he got his Ph.D. degree in law on the topic Presumption of innocence—in dubio pro reo. He was the vice dean of the law faculty from 2004 to 2009 and then the dean from 2009 to 2017. He have published books and articles on the files of criminal law, criminal procedure, human rights and family law. He has served as judge in the district court (1994) and been the leader of governmental law commissions on the DNA and the criminal law and parental responsibilities towards children. His research interests focus on criminal law, criminal procedure, family law and law of succession, police law.
