The School of Physical Education is composed of the Department of Social Sports, Department of General Physical Education and Athletics, Institute of Humane and Sociological Science, and Institute of Sports Pedagogy and Training Theory Studies. The Department of Social Sports and two institutes offer undergraduate and graduate degrees in Sports Management, Sports Industry and Physical Education Teacher Education that prepare leaders, administrators, supervisors, managers, coaches, and teachers to pursue career goals in Community Fitness Management, Sports Communication, Sports Marketing, Recreation Management, Coach Education, and Physical Education.
The Department of General Physical Education and Athletics concentrates on regular physical activity for university students and sports competitions. This department includes 7 professional sports teams: Track and Field, Swimming, Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Orienteering, and Table Tennis. These teams have gained enormous achievement at the international and national level. Some SDU athletes have won Olympic and national championships in various sports.
The School of Physical Education offers 1 doctoral program, 3 master degree programs, 1 professional master degree program and 4 undergraduate programs.
