On September 17th, the first issue of Emergency and Critical Care Medicine (E-ISSN 2693-860X), an official journal of Shandong University, was published online. This open access journal is published by Shandong University Scientific Journals Press and Wolters Kluwer| Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, and edited by Qilu Hospital of Shandong University. Under the auspices of the "High-level New Journal of 2019 Action Plan for the Excellence of China Science and Technology Journals" project, Emergency and Critical Care Medicine is supported by the Chinese Society of Emergency Medicine and the Chest Pain Branch of the China International Exchange and Promotive Association for Medical and Health Care. The journal processes submissions online through https://www.editorialmanager.com/eccm/ and welcomes papers from researchers worldwide.
Emergency and Critical Care Medicine aims to be a world-class academic journal in the fields of emergency and critical care medicine. Focusing on new achievements, innovative advancements, and cutting-edge experiences in research areas including but not limited to cardiopulmonary resuscitation, acute cardiovascular diseases, acute respiratory failure, stroke, shock, trauma, toxicology, organ dysfunction, out-of-hospital emergency medical services, critical care, artificial intelligence, life-supporting devices, the journal provides a long-term and friendly communication platform for scientific researchers in related fields, thus facilitating the development of clinical medicine.
The Editorial Board of Emergency and Critical Care Medicine is composed of 28 internationally renowned experts from six countries. Professor Chen Yuguo, president of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University, is the Editor-in-Chief, and associate editors are Prof. Cao Yihai, Foreign Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Tenured Professor of Karolinska Institute, Prof. Ma Xinliang, Tenured Professor of Thomas Jefferson University, Prof. Li Chunsheng, Professor of Capital Medical University, Prof. Lv Chuanzhu, 10th President of the Chinese Society of Emergency Medicine, Prof. Ren Jun, Tenured Professor of University of Wyoming, and Prof. Zhao Yan, Associate President of Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University. With the support of Shandong University, the journal provides professional peer review, rapid publication services, and gold open access publishing support.
The publication of E mergency and Critical Care Medicine is to implement the important directive of the central governmentof Chinaon building world-class science and technology journals, and to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 120th anniversary of Shandong University. By making use of the disciplinary advantages of Shandong University, this journal will promote the construction of “Double First Class University Plan” in Shandong University, and effectively enhancethe international academic influence of Shandong University in the fields of emergency and critical care medicine.
