Recently, Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China issued the first list of the National Boutique Resource Sharing Course, including 1,767 undergraduate courses. Thirty SDU entries are on the list, the number of which ranked ninth among universities nationwide.
The 30 entries, covering 23 SDU colleges, have all once been chosen as part of the "Project of the National Boutique Resource Sharing Course" with solid foundation, good teamwork, long time of accumulation as well as wide and substantial demand. The chosen entries are the central demonstration of teaching reforms and teaching achievements over the years. They are free on iCourse for public sharing and learning and have received warm welcome among learners on and off campus. SDU will continue to strengthen its high-quality online open courses, boost excellent educational resources sharing, and deepen reform of teaching modes and methods in information environment based on the 30 national entries. SDU will also supplement the class teaching with fine online courses, construct intelligent model classes and improve the quality of teaching and talent cultivation.
In order to implement the "National Outline for Medium-and Long-Term Educational Reform and Development (2010-2020)", Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China carried out a project of National Boutique Resource Sharing Courses in 2012, which focused abundant and rich public elementary courses, specialized basic courses and specialized core courses. Besides, the project requires universities to establish courses resources ssystem and to richen and adapt to Internet spread, so as to form a system of multi-level and multi-type, high-quality sharing teaching courses. The essence of this project is to provide excellent course resources for both college teachers and students and social learners; to accelerate the transformation of education and teaching concepts; to lead the reform of teaching contents and teaching methods; to promote co-construction and sharing of high-quality resources among universities and colleges; to share and cooperate on high-quality resources; to improve the quality of talents developing cultivation; as well as to serve the establishment of learning society.
