The 2021 Shandong University International Symposium on Climate Change and Health was recently held at the Baotuquan Campus.
The symposium was presided over by Liu Qiyong, director of the Shandong University Climate Change and Health Center and executive deputy director Ma Wei simultaneously online and offline, attracting 32 domestic and foreign experts and scholars from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the China Office of World Health Organization, Tsinghua University, Peking University, the University of Hong Kong, the University of Washington, and the University of Sao Paulo and other institutions and universities.
Liu Qiyong, director of the SUCH, presented the achievements of the center since its establishment in 2010 as well as the future research plans.
Professors at the symposium shared their latest research achievements and discussed relevant policies and regulations as well as their experience in the field of climate change and health.
Attendees carried out discussions on eight topics, including national climate change adaptation policy, carbon peaking, carbon neutrality and health benefits, and the health risks and adaptation assessment of climate change.
Over 300 SDU students also attended the symposium and more than 4,900 people watched the symposium online.
