The Chinese-Russian Symposium on Green Chemistry and Technology of Organosilicon Polymers and Materials was held at Shandong University from June 4 to 6, exploring green and sustainable development in the field of chemistry and chemical engineering.
Shandong University President Li Shucai delivered a speech at the conference, highlighting the university's solid foundation of cooperation with the Russian Academy of Sciences, which has significantly advanced innovation in organosilicon chemistry.
He stated that Shandong University will further strengthen cooperation between China and Russia in the field of green organosilicon materials, with the aim of building bridges for academic exchange, technological collaboration, and talent cultivation.
The university will also focus on cultivating high-level research talent with a global outlook and strong innovative capabilities, contributing to the economic development, scientific progress, and ecological protection of both countries, he said.
Aziz Muzafarov, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, expressed hope that both sides will uphold the principles of openness, cooperation, and mutual benefit, deepen collaborative exchanges, jointly tackle technological challenges, and advance in-depth cooperation between China and Russia in the organosilicon sector.
The conference also featured 19 high-level academic presentations covering topics such as organosilicon polymer synthesis, green material design, and new product applications, highlighting the latest research in green organosilicon materials. It also included roundtable forums on applications, organoelement chemistry, and polymer-related topics, along with visits to relevant enterprises.
