Shandong University team achieved remarkable results at the 18th Chinese University Beach Volleyball Championship, which was held from June 8 to 13 in Chongqing.

This event is recognized as the premier annual collegiate beach volleyball tournament in China, with its top-level competition, large scale, and wide influence.

This year, the competition attracted 116 teams from 61 universities nationwide, including Tsinghua University, Nanjing University, and Sun Yat-sen University. It featured general, high-level, and professional categories.

Shandong University's beach volleyball team, led by team leader Zhang Hongzhen and coaches Xu Liang and Yu Ying, competed in the men's high-level and professional divisions and finished undefeated, claiming the national championship in the men's high-level division. Additionally, two players from the professional division received the title of "National First-Class Athletes".

Shandong University is one of the 51 universities first approved to recruit high-level athletes in 1987 and has a profound volleyball tradition. Since 2000, its men's volleyball team has won 16 national titles and represented China in multiple international competitions, achieving historic results.
