Students and faculty from the Department of Dance at the School of Arts of Shandong University (SDU)'s Weihai Campus have once again achieved national recognition. Their original choreography and performance have been selected for the 2025 China's Top Dancers Growing Plan national showcase, marking the second consecutive year they have received this prestigious honor.
The acclaimed work, set against a backdrop of traditional Chinese culture, personifies the graceful lotus flower through the powerful and expressive movements of five dancers. By masterfully blending elements of Huxuan and Dunhuang dance styles, the piece demonstrates a unique balance of strength and elegance. This sophisticated fusion highlights the dancers' exceptional control and the professional artistry of the university's students and faculty.
The School of Arts at SDU is dedicated to promoting cultural exchange both at home and abroad. The department actively participates in national and provincial-level art events and has established various international exchange programs. The school regularly sends outstanding students and faculty to perform in countries such as the United States and Singapore, introducing audiences to the richness of Chinese civilization, the unique culture of Shandong, and the distinctive character of the university.
This repeated success underscores the high-level professional competence and creative talent being cultivated at the university, solidifying its reputation as a leading institution for performing arts.
