Fifty-seven students from 25 colleges of Shandong University (SDU) joined the Oxford Prospects Programme this summer. The curriculum aimed to broaden students' academic horizons, covering modules like PPEL, LLD, MS, STEM, and BFM.
The students participated in many activities and attended lectures on subjects from politics to medicine and computer science to learn about cutting-edge research.
Outside the classroom, the group explored British culture through workshops and company visits. They learned about British etiquette and joined a filmmaking project. A visit to the Silverstone Circuit, home of the Formula One British Grand Prix, gave engineering students a chance to learn about the intricate technology behind F1 racing.
The students also visited historic sites like Shakespeare's birthplace and Windsor Castle, gaining a deeper understanding of British history and culture. The experience in Oxford not only exposed them to a top-tier academic environment but also helped them develop thinking skills and clarify career paths.
In the classroom, SDU students showed strong academic and critical thinking skills. They took part in discussions with professors, exploring topics from artificial intelligence to quantum entanglement. In their final group presentations and film projects, the students worked together, earning high praise from organizers and judges.
