Shandong University (SDU) held its second Taishan Mountain Hiking Event in Tai'an on Nov 16, with nearly 600 faculty and students from SDU and four other prestigious universities — namely the University of Science and Technology of China, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Nankai University, and Westlake University — to experience the grandeur of Taishan Mountain.
Participants tackled the mountain's rugged trails and climbed more than 8,000 steps to the summit, navigating swirling clouds and mist. The journey began with enthusiasm and concluded with perseverance, embodying the pursuit of ambitious goals.
This physically challenging trek helped SDU students consolidate core values. It served as a powerful exercise in strengthening their determination and cultivating an optimistic and peaceful mindset. By reaching the majestic peak, they embraced the spirit of "Daring to Reach the Summit".
The event fostered solidarity and cross-institutional exchange, providing a memorable opportunity to appreciate the profound cultural heritage of Taishan Mountain while celebrating dedication and teamwork.
