The 14th Happy Chinese Stage Held

From November 25 to 27, the 14th Happy Chinese Stage was successfully organized by College of International Education at the Run Run Shaw Scientific Building, SDU. The Happy Chinese Stage attracted international students coming from around 28 classes, and presented fantastic and amusing performances to the audience.

The shows contained different kinds of Chinese traditional stories, and some of these stories were rearranged with creative factors and plots by international students.The Drunken Beautyof Beijing Opera was one example. Students of advanced class 201 not only performed the basic plot of the story, but also added their imagination and exaggeration into their performance. The dramaMulan, the story about a legendary woman warrior, was performed by advanced class 303. The background music added color to the drama. Advanced Class 301 put on a show about idiom riddles, showing their general knowledge on Chinese. Class 201 performed a drama about excellent students from SDU as well as tales ofYanzi, the Ambassador Who Visit the Kingdom of Chu.

Besides Chinese traditional stories, the academic life in China also inspired foreign students, so they created various wonderful shows.The Special Habitsby class 303 displayed their understanding of Chinese social phenomena, such as the square dance and people’s affection for Bruce Lee. The songSorry, I Am not Good at Chinese, the dramaChinese 007, andThe Healthy Song in Chineseshowed their interesting experience and passion in learning Chinese. Two musical plays,Today You Will Marry MeandLove with Each Other Isn’t That Easyindicated their attitudes towards love. International students also brought Chinese-style music and dance, such asBack to the Future-Jasmine,We Are Welcoming YouandFriendsas well as the danceThe Little Apple, which won much applause.Daddy, Where Are YouandThe Basin for Happinessbrought popular programs on the stage. The holding of Happy Chinese Stage every year brought a lot of joys and memories to both international students and Chinese students.
